I Will Rejoice

Posted by Bible Way on

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3:17-18 NIV

A Prophetic Word: "I Will Rejoice"

Who can rejoice when everything around you is falling apart? You see no solutions to your challenges and your faith seems small. Habakkuk was seeing Judah's devastation with natural eyes. Just imagine...the crops were failing, animals were dying, and all he had was his faith.

When nothing in our lives makes sense and when troubles seem more than we can bear, we need a prophetic word. A prophetic word builds us up, ministers encouragement to us, and helps us overcome despair.

Habakkuk understood God. He knew that emotions and feelings could not control the troubling events around him, but that his faith in God would give him strength and confidence. Likewise, we too can rejoice when our eyes are off of our difficulties and we are focused on God.

Take heed like Habakkuk declaring, "I will rejoice": "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice."
