Oftentimes, we wonder whether suffering is necessary in life. As a result, some are bold enough to ask God why affliction persists. Few, however, have realized difficult situations and challenges happen for their good. David, the King of Israel, not only understood this concept, but also recognized, accepted, and concluded "suffering was good...for it taught" him (Psalm 119:71).
Likewise, let us be mindful to reflect on areas in our lives where suffering has taught us righteousness, repentance, discipline, endurance, and perseverance; as a result, God might be glorified through us, the power of Christ might be manifested in us, and we may share in His holiness.
