Praising God In A Strange Place

Praising God In A Strange Place

Dec 10, 2017

Passage: Psalms 137:1-4

Preacher: Pastor Darrell Jackson

Series: God's Favor

Summary:

There are times when a crowded room feels lonely, when a sunny sky feels like rain, and the most familiar place is strange. These are the times when the cares of life appear to hold us captive and taunts us, saying, "Praise God now!" In Psalm 137, the children of Israel must have felt the same as they remembered Zion, and their non-believing captors in Babylon demanded of them a song. We also ask the question, "How can we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?" when our hearts are heavy from the cares of the world we live in? It is important to remember that the supernatural favor of God supersedes our location and our circumstances; therefore, by His Spirit, we are empowered to sing and bless Him at all times.
